Fun facts kids love

The thing I love about this book is it gives kids a huge amount of information without dragging it out over page after page. The information is kept short to keep young minds interested.

Here's my son's favourite from the going green section of the book. Gas from cows is a big contributor to global warming. He thinks it's hilarious that cows passing wind are heating up the planet.

Exceptional links

The book is packed with website links so that children can continue learning and having fun when they put the book down.

Meet the Nat Geo explorers

As a parent, I love these pages where a variety of people talk about their jobs. Meet Fredrik Hiebert, archeologist and explorer, or learn what it takes to be an oceanographer. I love that my son gets to learn about these amazing people and know that if he wants to follow in their footsteps he absolutely can.

It's a ten out of ten book

I already knew my son loved this book; after all it goes in the car with us, on holiday with us and I can almost guarantee finding it in the bed with him once he's asleep. Here's what my son said about this book. "It's a ten out of ten."I guess that sums it up for a nine year old.

A final word from a very impressed mum

My son has a mass of books. He loves "learning books" full of new facts, and this is the sort of book he'll pick up again and again and again. If I had to throw all his books out and could only keep one, this would be the book I'd choose. Why? Because it's fascinating, fun to read and he loves it.
